“This adventure is a lovely way to learn about Polynesian culture, enjoy an easy to medium hike, and taste the best fruit you will ever eat!! They picked us up at the Sofitel and drove us to our starting point (there is a nice restroom to use before you start the hike). At this point we learned about the plantation, the things they grow, and how they care for the land. Along the hike our guide stopped and shared stories of culture with us. The waterfall was gorgeous and we got in and swam under the water. We returned to a beautiful display of fresh fruit. It was delicious and…”

Mo'orea: Guided ATV Nature Tour - Setting out through plantations and pineapple fields

Mo’orea: Guided ATV Nature Tour

4.Mo’orea: Guided ATV Nature Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 81 reviews · 3h 30m · from $123

You’ll drive an ATV through Mo'orea’s Opunohu Valley with a small group of up to six, crossing rivers, pineapple fields, and fruit plantations. Guides such as Striker, Tapu, Marco, and Ari add local stories and help you feel at ease. The tour includes Belvedere views, possible tastings, photos, and a drink afterward.

“The tour/activity description said you could not wear shorts but the tour guide said it was fine, which meant we are all pretty hot the whole ride, unnecessarily. The description also said licensed drivers could drive the ATVs, but they would not let my licensed son drive because he is not 18 years old. All they have to do is update the details of the tour description to ensure clarity, but they did not care that these things were unclear. All that said, the ride and the scenery were fun and beautiful and our guide was awesome—5 stars for the guide and experience, 3 stars for the business owners/tour operator.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 68 reviews · 4h 30m · from $176

Spend about 4.5 hours exploring Tahiti’s east coast in a Mercedes minivan with a local English-speaking guide such as Tracy, Ronnie, or Dominique. Visit Point Venus, Papeete’s market, a silk-screen workshop, an old leper colony, waterfalls, the Arahoho Blowhole, and Tahara Viewpoint in a group of no more than eight.

“Ronnie was our wonderful guide, who picked us up at our hotel. There were already 6 people from the cruise ship in the van but we had plenty of space. Ronnie would quiz us as to where we were going and what we already knew about the locations. Apparently, I was the only one who read the agenda as well as Mutiny on the Bounty. Hint for future travelers. We went to places we would never have found on our own, like the Chinese cemetery and Vaihatu waterfall. Enjoyed every minute of a full afternoon tour.”
